As we all know, black cars are a blessing and a curse.  Keeping them looking great is a bear!
I've found a system (below) that eclipses anything I've ever used.  I've only used it on clear-coated cars and it does a spectacular job.  On top of that, my car stays "clean-Looking" longer than ever before.
The system consists of Liquid Lustre's Acrylionic LXR (www.lustrelab.com), Liquid Glass's Car Wash and Liquid Glass Coating.  (www.liquidglass.com)

Dilute 2-3 Tablespoons of LXR and Liquid Glass Car Wash in a gallon of water.  This is your hand washing solution.  Get a micro-fiber mitt and carefully caress/clean all surfaces of your car, including all glass and wheels.

Get a sidewalk blower and blow the residual water off the car and quickly dry with 100% cotton towels.  NO Chamois.

Then apply a coat of Liquid Glass to every surface, including glass and wheels, headlights, etc.  Do this a section at a time and buff it off after it haze drys.  Do your entire car in the shade or a garage.  Turn your towels often as the Liquid Glass "gums up" the towel.

Then park your car in the sun for a 1/2 day.  The Sun's UV rays will harden the Liquid Glass and now you have a nearly impervious surface that will protect your car and repel dirt.

Give your car a second or third coat every 30 days up to 3 coats.  Reapply every year when inspired.

I've followed this system, sharing only with my important friends, for several years.  The results are much better than the bottles of Mother and Mequiar's sittling in my garage.  In fact, I am surprised that these two giants haven't bothered to buy Liquid Lustre or Liquid Glass.

Let us all know of your findings.  As my Dad used to say, "Never drive a dirty car out in public."

Cool! Thanks for sharing.

A sidewalk blower? As in the same blowers that they use for gardening? Is there no danger in debris from the air getting in the blower and chipping paint?

Good stuff! Love my clean black car....it needs some love though - lots of spider webs.
Good question, but never had a problem. Naturally, keep it pointed at the vehicle and not the ground.
And for Spider Webs, apply a coat of 3M Fill and Glaze....then a couple of coats of the Liquid Glass. NEVER have spider webs again.
Cooooool. 3M film? Where do you get this?
Commercial Paint Supply stores carry Fill N' Glaze or whatever they are selling now. It too, is very easy on and off. Amazing product!
Ron turned me on to Fill 'n Glaze some time ago. Works great.
I bought one large bottle of this stuff years ago...lasts forever.
I concur...kind of. I have not used the total method of mixing LXR with the Liquid Glass car wash. But I have used LXR regularly as a car wash, and can testify that Liquid Glass as a longer lasting protector is a great solution.

I will have to give Ron's system a try!
Well....Ron inspired me to go back and try his method again. (Also my son commenting that he noticed spidermarks on my car).

I pulled out clean old washcloths for the application and clean terry towels for the polishing.
Just a reminder that a little goes a looooong way when using any of the products listed. Fill n Glaze, LXR, and Liquid Glass.

Here is first result after using LXR to wash and then Fill n Glaze. Picture of the sky? Nope...this is a reflection off my BLACK car's hood.

Another one:

And one more that proves it is actually the hood. (well, in 911 it is the trunk lid really)

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! That is insane! I thought the first picture was a mistake until I read the comment.

I'll try this car washing system. Nice add!
Continuing to follow Tom's direction ,  I washed weigh LXR  and gave kit aand 2nd coat of  liquid glass a week later .    Looking good !
wooooooohoooo. OK, I gotta try this.
I have long been a elbow-grease along with carnauba wax man. But this looks better.
Thanks for the tips. I'm insane about washing my car - had not heard of these products.
And I heartily recommend www.sparkleauto.com as sources for the hard to find LustreLab LXR wash and LG100 Liquid Glass product.

Nice people, fast shipment, and they even send cookies with your first order!

And while $18 for a bottle of car wash may seem high...a little really does go a long way.
