Now that the Hyundai Veloster sport "coupe" is about to be unveiled (in about 15 minutes) Motor Trend has posted a gallery of photos.  I loved to hear your initial thoughts. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/hatchbacks/1101_2012_hyundai_ve...

Neat...Hyundai Veloster going after the Mini Cooper and Honda CR-Z at least in specs.

Hyundai's newfound reliability and warranty may be a major advantage.  I personally love the Mini, but it does not have a good reputation for reliability.

Man.  Hyundai is seriously coming out with some amazing rides....buuuuut...not sure I'm a huge fan of this one.  The rear end seems smushed!  Maybe this is the 'car of the future' ?
Oh - and Steve - nice info!  I have always wanted a mini too.
Hmmm.  Not so sure on the styling.  I think this is one of those that I would have to see in person to truly appreciate!  Or...even DRIVE!  You got one you can send my way???
Veloster When?   2012 model but that could mean release any time in 2011, right?
I am being told July.  I will no doubt get to see a copy before then as the regional office usually gets the vehicles a few months ahead of availability for technician training and testing.  It will be interesting to see real world colors applied as apposed to the auto show treatments.

Cute, but Hyundai. They got a little more horse power than the others listed. But still, I don't think there is a person on this planet that could sell me that car. Personally I have driven many of these cars. Not a single one handles great or even nice. I may sound like the enemy of Hyundai here, but, yuck yuck yuck. If a MFG like this could create a concept that is better, more reliable and back the product they sell, to a strength greater than the existing MFG, I would look at it. No creativity. it's like the designers leaf through magazines and go. Okay here lets use this front end. ooooooh we like those doors from Porsche, Dude hey lets use Mazda's bumpers. But hey take the back end and smash it in so people will think we didn't copy anyone.

I did hear this car will be available by late July. Hyundai wants to drop me in the seat of one and let me run it on the race track, preferably Willow Springs in CA, I would be game.
