Look out Leaf & Volt, Mitsubishi has thrown their hat into the electric ring!

If you have been following developments in the electric car world, you may think that there are only two cars that matter. The Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt (that is a hybrid, but I won't start that argument now) Both companies have spent millions just getting the name recognition that markers dream of. Mitsubishi, on the other hand, has not. What they have done, is better.

Unlike other competitors, Mitsubishi hasn't bothered filling space on auto blogs and full page spreads in car magazines, they just built the car and they are now selling it! Not only are they selling this car, they are selling it for THOUSANDS less than either Nissan or GM ($20, 490 after tax rebates etc.) Granted, this is a much more basic design, but it gets the job done.

I have seen these cars first hand on recent visits to Japan where they were being used by various cities in their municipal service fleets.

On that note, I want to add a very biased opinion. I've had Mitsubishi designed cars in the past and not been very impressed with them. I have also had some of the best electronic equipment ever from this same manufacturer. If they have put the quality into this car that they do with their other electronic devices, then this will be the car to have. So, Mitsubishi, if you are out there and listening, give me a call. I want to give this car a real life test drive!
