Was chilling in Coronado on this beautiful day and saw this VW Karmann Ghia for sale on the side of the road. Obviously I had to stop and take a look. I believe it was a 1971 Karmann Ghia...pretty…Continue

I have noticed that my BRAND NEW car has this weird "shimmy" or "shake" (like the song...) when I start it occasionally. Curious if anyone else gets this and if its normal...or if I need to make a…Continue

So I am currently looking for a new vehicle. My two main choices after driving a few rides are the BMW 328 and now the Genesis. I drove the V8 which apparently has 375 HP first. I wasn't actually…Continue

I have a 2008 Audi TT. The oil seems to disappear in this thing. The dealership swears up and down that the consumption of oil is 'normal'...but I am literally filling it every month...well, every…Continue

Andrew commented on Steve's blog post Why Can't they All be Beautiful? Cool Parking GaragesCurious which cars are among the most stolen out there? It might just change your purchasing behavior, or at least get you to buy full coverage insurance!!
The first time since 2002 SIX of the top ten most stolen vehicles were domestic brands. Yikes, not good! Ford was the winner at taking three top spots, then Dodge then Chevy.
But for those of you who are 100% American made fans, don't worry - the top spot is still foreign...and that is the 1994 Honda…

So you are just about ready to go get your California Emissions test done? If you are nervous, don't be...in the unlikely event that you don't pass the test, most of the time any problems can be fixed.
Keep in mind that it isn't just the emissions that your car will be graded on. There is Emissions inspection, Visual inspection and Functional inspection.
I will give just a few bullet points on what each test consists of, as well as some simple yet…

So, I just got back from Thailand (went many places around there) - and Bangkok is one CRAZY city. Tuk Tuk's are one of the main forms of transportation for tourists. These guys are CRAZY drivers. In fact, most of Bangkok is filled with crazy drivers. Lots of motorbikes (whereas we call them mopeds) that weave in and out. The Tuk Tuk ride was so crazy that I took film and some pictures of the rides.
If you are traveling to Bangkok - every Tuk Tuk driver will…

I was inspired to write a review about Mckenna BMW after helping a friend aquire a new BMW...and now, it was my turn for a new ride!
I can't say enough great things about Mercedes Benz of San Diego. First of all, I have had a Mercedes before and loved the brand. I find them sleek, 'regal' and incredibly well built. I had driven a used 2008 model and wasn't that impressed though. Then, I drove the 2011 and was SOLD.
I was helped out by Kambiz…

Yeah, maybe. Sorry, I saw it at Costco and didn't stop to think there might actually be more than one of these types of gizmos.
Going to buy it today. I have a feeling the light has gone on again due to a loose gas cap, which is a pretty cheezy item on the "check engine" list in my opinion. Wonder how many visits to the dealer that has generated during which the dealer just happened to find something else wrong with the car...
Might still be useful gearhead gadget.
So it gave you the gascap as a possible code? Or something indecipherable?
But Costco will take it back without receipt....they have a record of when you bought it on your costco membership. Worst case they give you store credit...and there is ALWAYS something you can buy at Costco!
Well, that's good news, cause I need the refund. As for what it told me - I never used it. I just filled up my wife's car and made sure I screwed the cap on tightly and, lo and behold, the light went off. yeesh.
